Status Update
I just wanted to apologize for the fact that the posting has been a little irregular. I’ve been packing my things up because I’m moving this weekend. My goal is to get back to posting at least 3 times per week by next week. In the meantime, we’ll still have sounds going up, they just won’t be on as regular a schedule. Thanks for your patience.
Check out this amazing video recap of the Contribute event at Studio@620 from Charlie Diaz!
Lil Wayne recently hit up Skate Park of Tampa - check it out.
This is another clip from Antiwarpt, featuring Jun’s performance at The Globe. I had never heard her perform before and her voice blew me away. If you get the chance to see her, make sure you go.
Antiwarpt was on Saturday and it was beyond amazing. So much great music, and so many people out and about. The crowds were incredibly friendly, I think it was really representative of what’s so great about our scene and our community. This particular clip was recorded while I walked the south side of 600 Block, from Daddy Kool to the impromptu Taco Bus set up. You can hear each venue’s act playing as I pass it (Local, Fubar), and at the end you can hear the hum of the Taco Bus’s generators running. I have much more to share from this event, I’ll most likely be posting clips from Antiwarpt all week.
This is a clip from Contribute: A Community Action Party, hosted by New Roots News at Studio@620 last night. You can hear Nate Najar playing in the background while everyone schmoozes with their neighbors. It really was a wonderful event, and we were honored to have been a part of it.
New track “Melt” recorded by Mark Perfetti live at 88.5 WMNF during Artful Dodging’s with Ariel Stevenson!
Spreading the WMNF/Artful Dodgings love!
Our first submission comes from the lovely Arielle Stevenson (she of WMNF’s Artful Dodgings). Arielle recorded the bells of St. Mary’s in St. Pete from her front porch. Must be a nice way to start your day.
Another rain clip. Tampa Bay is supposedly the lightning capital of North America. I say supposedly not because I doubt the title, but because I’m too busy (read: lazy) to verify it. At any rate, this is another clip of a storm recorded on my back porch. If you want to get right to the fireworks, skip to the :30 mark (about two-thirds of the way through) and you’ll hear that wonderful thunder.
More rain! This was from a particularly nasty storm - you can hear the rain (and a little hail) just pelting the tin roof, and then the thunder starts to kick in and things get really fun.
Another clip from the backyard a few weeks back. There was a storm blowing in, and the crickets were out in full force until the wind started to pick up.
Last week we had pretty steady rain throughout the Bay Area. During one afternoon shower, I went out onto our tin-roof porch to record the rain, and got the ice cream man and some of our blue jays as well. Summer in a thirty second clip.
